Research Interests
We are passionate about research that bridges traditions, challenges assumptions, and creates real-world impact for underserved communities.
Areas of Interest
While we are not yet a research institution, we have a clear vision for the kinds of research we believe are urgently needed — and that we hope to contribute to as we grow.
- Integrating Ayurveda with Western Therapy — Investigating how Ayurvedic principles of constitution, lifestyle, and herbal medicine can complement evidence-based Western therapeutic models to improve patient outcomes.
- Cross-Cultural Art Therapy — Examining how art therapy can be adapted across cultural contexts, particularly for communities where verbal expression of mental distress carries stigma.
- Dutch Mental Health Service Gaps — Researching systemic barriers to mental healthcare access in the Netherlands, including waitlist impacts, inequities in care for migrant and diaspora communities, and the effects of underfunding.
- Community Support Models — Studying peer-led and community-based approaches to mental health that reduce reliance on overburdened clinical systems while maintaining quality of care.
- Women's Reproductive Health & Mental Wellbeing in South Asia — Exploring the intersection of reproductive rights, access to safe healthcare, and mental health outcomes for women across Sri Lanka and the wider South Asian region.
An Invitation to Collaborate
We warmly invite researchers, academics, and students who share these interests to reach out. Whether you are conducting a study that aligns with our mission, looking for a community partner, or seeking real-world contexts for your research — we would love to explore how we can work together.
We are particularly interested in partnerships that centre lived experience, prioritise ethical research practices, and produce findings that translate into tangible improvements for the communities we serve.
